About The Position

Maintenance follows technical manuals and preventive maintenance checklists, or industry best practices when no checklist is available. The technician records maintenance in real time in MAXIMO, observes warranty terms, and tracks maintained items by part number, serial number, and location. The role sets up and tests TADSS and STE devices for expected operation and interoperability; monitors hardware baselines and recommends actions if updates fail; and analyzes maintenance trends, component consumption, obsolescence, and failures to manage risk and improve reliability. It also oversees configuration management and installs manufacturer-directed modifications or upgrade kits. The technician may serve as a preventive rover for unstaffed sites and may install and maintain software and hardware for applications and operating systems. Accurate site-level RVCT reports and supporting documentation must be maintained and delivered to designated personnel and stakeholders on schedule. The position supports steady-state training, Point of Need training, and surge support. Duties may include planning exercises in TMT software, aligning equipment and RVCT modules, initializing and troubleshooting RVCT networks, providing over-the-shoulder Soldier training, and supporting exercise-control functions. For Point of Need exercises, the technician oversees equipment shipment preparation, transportation, setup, initialization, troubleshooting, execution support, and return to the original location. Surge support may involve shifting personnel between locations to support training demands, including exercises involving up to 28 RVCT modules or two companies. Travel, including OCONUS travel, may be required up to 30% of the time. The regular work environment is primarily inside simulation facilities at the assigned site or a Point of Need location, with some office work. Physical activities include stooping, bending, lifting or carrying up to 35 pounds, short periods of walking, and potentially extended periods of standing. The technician must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust/NACI clearance.
