About The Position

This role is for an Electronic Technician I who will be responsible for understanding the function of instrumentation, performing troubleshooting and on-bench diagnosis, and repairing instrumentation. The position involves compiling detailed production and repair paperwork, ensuring quality products, updating the Neogen CASE system, and receiving formal training on instrument operation and repairs. The technician will also create repair SOPs for new instruments, perform direct work, assist in modifying documentation, maintain Neogen RA system entries, and manage parts inventory. Requirements

  • Must be competent with standard electronic test equipment – Oscilloscopes, DVM, signal generators, power supplies.
  • Must be able to diagnose and repair electronic equipment, connectivity issues and related troubleshooting.
  • Needs good analog and digital troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedural documents in English.
  • Solid knowledge of computers and OS systems as well as the ability to communicate electronically effectively.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite are also required.
  • Ability to perform routine mathematical operations including some basic statistical analysis (percentage, averages, etc.).
  • Understanding of metric system and metric to English conversions.
  • Minimum HS diploma, Associates degree in computer/electronics.
  • Two to four years of experience in electronic assembly, processes, equipment and troubleshooting required.
  • Small scale mechanical aptitude required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures and other procedural documents in English.
  • Ability to read computer screens in English.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively in front of team members and in front of other general group meetings.
  • Ability to perform routine, college level mathematical operations, including high level statistical functions.
  • Solid knowledge of computers and OS systems as well as the ability to effectively communicate electronically.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Power Point is also required.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in CAD and statistical software programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting, on-bench diagnosis, and repair of Instrumentation.
  • Compile detailed production and repair paperwork, including quantities produced, scrapped, in-process, etc.
  • Ensure quality product is built or repaired and shipped.
  • Ensure that Neogen CASE system entries for the Instrumentation department repairs are properly updated and Cases are closed in a timely manner.
  • Receive new product formal training on instrument operation and repairs from Vendor.
  • Create a repair SOP for new instruments.
  • Perform direct work, demonstrating the ability to perform any of the various operations within the group.
  • Assist in modifying BOMs, work instructions, and ISO documents as necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining Neogen RA system entries for department.
  • Ensure that parts inventory is properly maintained in SL.
  • Other duties as may be assigned by Manager.
