Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Electronic Technician 3 to join the team of qualified individuals on our Test and Evaluation organization. This role is located onsite in Tinker AFB and Oklahoma City, OK. In this role, the successful candidate will work within a technical team responsible for the building, integration, test and maintenance of hardware in laboratory settings ranging in complexity from single rack of equipment to 10+ racks and will provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. The candidate should be a self-starter with familiarity working in an Integrated Product Team construct. Requirements

  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
  • Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must have the ability to interpret engineering drawings in accordance with ASME and IEEE standards, including rack assembly drawings, interconnect wiring diagrams and custom cable assemblies.
  • Must have ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 50lbs and work with hazardous-materials, in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Must pass a vision exam that tests for color blindness to confirm the ability to visually differentiate cables and wires based on their color
  • Must have experience with mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, and/or fabrication.
  • Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude to learn new material quickly.
  • Must have the willingness and ability to work full-time, on-site at our facility. There is no remote / hybrid / telework available for this position.
  • Must have the willingness and ability to work Monday thru Friday 5/40 schedule.
  • Must be willing and able to support varying shifts, overtime, and holidays as needed to support business objectives

Nice To Haves

  • Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
  • Active U.S. Government Secret or Top Secret clearance with investigation date within the last 5 years
  • Proficiency with JIRA
  • Knowledge of schematic diagrams and other engineering documentation.
  • Experience building and installing custom harness assemblies in accordance with industry standards.
  • Experience with industry standards for connectors including, but not limited to D38999, Dsub, twinax, RJ45, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Build systems using engineering drawings, configuration & recovery documentation,
  • Support startup & shutdown procedures, ATP/Delivery, as well as post-delivery support.
  • Support the build and installation of custom cables and wire harness assemblies as well as tray assemblies from engineering drawings and interconnect diagrams.
  • Produce engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics)
  • Maintaining the Lab space including 5’s and tool control.
  • Supporting development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronic systems.
  • Conducting routine testing, troubleshooting, prototype building, and developmental engineering tasks.
  • Performing operational tests to ensure conformance with design specifications.
  • Diagnosing and isolating malfunctions down to the component level.
  • Conducting engineering tests and collecting data.
  • Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
