Our Protective Design & Security team prioritizes the protection of life and assets by mitigating consequences of security risks in the built environment. Within our practice, you’ll be develop knowledge on how risk-based design brings together security planning, physical security, and electronic security to develop layered protection strategies. You’ll support the development of performance-based solutions—from secure site planning to physical hardening, access control, surveillance, and detection—and how these measures integrate with security operations.
As an Electronic Security Designer in our Protective Design & Security practice, you will support risk-based security strategy and electronic security design for buildings, campuses, and mixed-use environments across sectors. You will help develop and coordinate vendor-neutral systems—including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and supporting infrastructure—and connect them with architecture, physical security, infrastructure, and operations to support layered security. With support from your team, you will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment while developing technical, analytical, and project coordination skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering, security engineering, architecture or a related field
• Interest in electronic security, low-voltage systems, and security technology integration.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Nice To Haves

• master's degree preferred
• Familiarity with design, visualization, and documentation tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam,ARC GIS, Unreal Engine, or similar platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support design and planning for access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related security systems.
• Assist with technology selection and design, infrastructure coordination, as well as integration of the security measures into project designs.
• Help prepare diagrams, technical narratives, presentations, and design documentation that communicate security measures clearly.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers and AV/IT specialists in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Participate in on-site assessments, field surveys, and construction-phase activities.
• Develop foundational knowledge of cabling, power, and networks for security systems.
• Build familiarity with TT’s culture, services, and interdisciplinary approach to security and resilience while growing your technical and professional skills.
