About The Position

Thermo Fisher Scientific offers industry-leading pharma services through our Patheon™ brand, providing an integrated global network of scientific, technical, regulatory, and quality experts committed to helping deliver medicines to patients faster. The Mississauga site supports all phases of drug product development — from early-phase formulation development to clinical trial material to commercial supply — within the same facility using scalable equipment. The site supports non-GMP and GMP work for highly potent and low-potent compounds, complex formulations, pediatric dosage forms, patent-extension strategies, and conventional oral solid dosage forms. Discover Impactful Work: Provide support service requiring greater emphasis on timeliness and cost effectiveness. Responsible for tasks and duties directly impacting Good Manufacturing Practice and productivity. Shift schedule: Continental - monthly rotation days and nights including weekends Day in the Life: Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot electronic components on production and building support equipment. Perform equipment and systems’ electrical/electronics up grades to Patheon Inc. safety standards. Perform calibration of electronic sensors, control devices and instrumentation, including environmental controls. Liaise with internal/external customers/inspections related to area of expertise. Maintain up dated records of changes on documents such as, manuals, schematics, drawings, etc. Maintain automation systems, electro-pneumatic circuits and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming. Document applicable work activities performed within a CMMS Program. Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards. Perform alternating or rotating shift work as well as requirement to work during maintenance shutdowns.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/General Educational Development (GED) Certificate is required
  • Ontario Electrical License (442A or 309A) is required.
  • Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron PLC’s and Variable in a controlled and regulated environment.
  • Familiar with GMPs, GAMP4/5 and 21 CFR part 11.
  • Superior written and oral skills.
  • Detail oriented and organized, with a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Superior writing skills as well strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong judgment, decision making and trouble shooting skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, meeting tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Proficient with the English language.
  • Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about manufacturing/office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity; visual acuity to operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time.

  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check

  • Electronic Technician Certificate designation would be an asset
