Requirements

  • Advanced troubleshooting: conveyors, ovens, freezers, baggers, wrappers, pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, and ammonia systems.
  • Precision work on packaging and palletizing equipment—calibration, diagnostics, and optimization.
  • Utilities support: compressed air and refrigeration systems.
  • Adhere to GMP, HACCP, and SQF frameworks in every maintenance activity.
  • Apply LOTO, confined-space, and PPE practices rigorously.
  • Practice strict tool control; clean and sanitize tools/equipment when tasks are complete.
  • Prevent cross-contact by ensuring clothing does not carry ingredients or allergens to other areas.
  • Leverage knowledge of OSHA standards and food-industry legal requirements.
  • Partner with the Business Unit Manager and Quality Technical Manager to identify and resolve quality, food safety, and regulatory issues.
  • Keep the facility perpetually ready for customer and third-party inspections.
  • Work closely with Production and Sanitation to ensure equipment readiness and reliability.
  • Assist with customer-complaint reviews tied to equipment performance or sanitation.
  • Maintain spotless, organized maintenance areas and tool sets.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform intermediate preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on conveyors, ovens, freezers, pumps, motors, and packaging machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults independently.
  • Lead changeovers that are swift, well-documented, and aligned with sanitation protocols.
  • Calibrate sensors, scales, and automation profiles to sustain product quality.
  • Capture precise work histories in the CMMS; highlight chronic issues and potential failures.
  • Coach Maintenance Technician I team members; share methods that boost safety and uptime.
  • Coordinate with the parts room to ensure essential spares are on hand.
  • Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement to eliminate repeat downtime.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and emergency repairs on your assigned line—and adapt as needed for additional responsibilities directed by the Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
