About The Position

At Charter Casting, our maintenance team is the backbone of our operation, keeping everything running smoothly. They tackle a variety of challenges, from installing and maintaining equipment to troubleshooting complex problems and executing preventive maintenance plans. 3 Positions Available at Charter Casting — 2900 E Richmond St, Shawano, WI 54166 Weekend Shift Days | 7am to 7pm | Friday-Sunday 2nd shift | 2pm - 12am | Monday - Thursday 3rd shift | 9pm-7am | Monday - Thursday

Requirements

  • Experience as an industrial maintenance technician (electrical and/or mechanical).
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. (We can help with GEDworks program)
  • Operate/maintain electrical and mechanical testing equipment
  • Experience with welding/torch equipment.
  • Basic mechanical and maintenance aptitude.
  • Operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use basic math skills.
  • Ability to read and understand and follow operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work well with other employees
  • Frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, bending, lifting up to 60 lbs., and ability to meet physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree in related field, apprenticeship
  • Journeyman's card
  • Experience in foundry or metals
  • Experience commissioning and troubleshooting Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs and Drives.
  • Proven expertise in AC/DC motor maintenance, Industrial electrical troubleshooting, and hydraulics & pneumatics.
  • Relevant industry certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and equipment modifications to ensure safe, reliable operation.
  • Support production by diagnosing startup issues and minimizing downtime.
  • Install, align, calibrate, and verify equipment to meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Assist senior technicians with complex repairs and system improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records, inventories, and work orders in the CMMS.
  • Support technician training initiatives and maintain departmental housekeeping.
  • Install and service facility systems, including HVAC and electrical wiring.
  • Comply with all environmental, quality, and safety procedures.
