About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking an Expert Level Electromagnetics Engineer to join the E3 Design Integration Team. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization, which is a global leader in aircraft, satellites, space programs, and weapons. The St. Louis E3 Design Integration Team is responsible for analysis, concept development, design implementation, and verification tasks on various Boeing Defense programs. The role requires interfacing with multiple disciplines across Boeing, external customers, suppliers, and various levels of the organization to manage compliance with design integration requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite.
  • Candidates must be willing to Travel Domestically and Internationally as needed.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) or E3 (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects).
  • Active US Security Clearance.
  • B.S Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Physics.
  • Experience with relevant aircraft electromagnetic standards: MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, RTCA DO-160.
  • Experience in a role which required knowledge of MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, DO-160, IEC-61000, and/or FCC part 15.
  • Experience in Aerospace & Defense Industry and/or the military.
  • Experience performing computational electromagnetic analysis (FEKO, Cosite, ANSYS, CST).
  • Experience with written and verbal communication including developing and delivering presentations to key stakeholders.
  • Experience with MS Office tool suite.
  • Experience working within an engineering organization.
  • Experience with lightning testing and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) requirements for various communication, sensor, electronic warfare, and other electromagnetic systems, subsystems, components, interconnects, and structures.
  • Develop architectures to integrate components into higher-level systems and platforms.
  • Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation, and other forms of computational electromagnetic (CEM) analysis to predict component and interconnect performance and to optimize design around established requirements.
  • Define and conduct tests to validate the performance of designs against requirements.
  • Support supplier electromagnetic testing for compliance with procedures and standards.
  • Collect and analyze data on supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Provide support to products throughout their lifecycle from manufacturing to customer use by recommending engineering solutions to issues.
  • Support project management by providing work statement, budget, schedule, and other required inputs, and by reporting project status.
  • Works under general supervision and direction.
