About The Position

Lead Enterprise GEOINT Engineering Across the Intelligence Community Mission Intelligence Group is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer (Expert-Level) to support the evolution of critical GEOINT capabilities across the National System of Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and partner Federal Agencies. This role is ideal for a seasoned systems engineering professional who thrives in complex mission environments, enjoys solving enterprise-scale challenges, and is passionate about delivering reliable, mission-focused solutions that support national security objectives. Your Role As an Expert Systems Engineer, you will provide strategic engineering leadership across large, complex systems and programs spanning organizational and agency boundaries. You will guide requirements engineering, systems integration, architecture analysis, technology assessments, and mission-driven solution development while advising government stakeholders on modern engineering approaches and emerging technologies. Additionally, you will oversee engineering activities performed by senior, mid-level, and junior engineers to ensure successful mission outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in: Systems Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology Management, Information Systems, or Related STEM discipline.
  • Equivalent experience may be substituted: 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree or 2 additional years of experience with a non-STEM degree.
  • 18+ years of relevant experience supporting Government or Industry programs.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: DoD/IC Acquisition Process, Requirements Process, PPBES Process, Systems engineering within large, complex System-of-Systems environments, Service-Oriented Architectures within cloud, on-premises, or hybrid infrastructures.
  • Strong understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprise environments.
  • Previous experience supporting NGA and/or NSG/ASG programs.
  • Previous experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance adjudication or the ability to obtain SCI access and successfully pass a polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or higher in: Systems Engineering, Engineering Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology Management, Information Systems, or Related STEM discipline.
  • Working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes, tools, and languages.
  • Software Development Framework Certification.
  • INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) Certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Membership or leadership participation in: ACSM, ASCE, ASPRS, OGC, SAREM, USGIF.
  • Extensive experience within the Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) domain.
  • Experience engineering solutions utilizing: Cloud-based technologies, Structured and unstructured Big Data environments, Automation technologies, Augmentation technologies, Artificial Intelligence technologies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following: Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, Image Science, Information Sciences, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geomatics, Related GEOINT disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead systems engineering efforts across NSG, ASG, and Federal Agency environments.
  • Support Government stakeholders in requirements engineering, solutions engineering, and systems integration activities.
  • Analyze, document, and maintain requirements traceability across architectures, systems, and mission capabilities.
  • Evaluate existing systems, workflows, cloud services, and scheduling constraints to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Advise Government customers on technology modernization efforts and solution design enhancements.
  • Translate mission objectives and customer needs into actionable system and capability requirements.
  • Support allocation of requirements to system architectures and execution programs.
  • Conduct and lead Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments.
  • Provide engineering support in risk management, performance engineering, interface design, and strategic technical planning.
  • Assist with project management activities and enterprise-level engineering initiatives.
  • Provide expert recommendations aligning organizational vision, strategy, requirements, and capability development.
  • Integrate engineering efforts across multiple major acquisition programs and organizational boundaries.
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of Senior-, Mid-, and Junior-Level Systems Engineers.
