About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking an Expert Level Electromagnetics Engineer to join the E3 Design Integration Team in Berkeley or Hazelwood, supporting Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS). The team performs analysis, concept development, design implementation, and verification for Boeing Defense programs. The position involves working across engineering, product support, manufacturing, external customers, and suppliers to manage compliance with design integration requirements.

The role focuses on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), electromagnetic interference (EMI), and related electromagnetic systems and effects. The position is expected to be 100% onsite, requires domestic and international travel as needed, and is for first shift. The role works under general supervision and direction.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering focused in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry, or non-U.S. equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
• Nine or more years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience, or non-U.S. equivalent qualifications.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance is required post-start.
• U.S. citizenship is required for the security clearance, and the role requires a U.S. Person under export control regulations.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
• Satisfy the company's Conflict of Interest assessment process.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with EMC, EMI, or E3 (Electromagnetic Environmental Effects).
• Active U.S. Security Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics.
• Experience with aircraft electromagnetic standards such as MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, and RTCA DO-160.
• Experience requiring knowledge of MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, DO-160, IEC-61000, and/or FCC Part 15.
• Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry and/or the military.
• Experience performing computational electromagnetic analysis using FEKO, Cosite, ANSYS, or CST.
• Written and verbal communication experience, including developing and delivering presentations to key stakeholders.
• Experience with the MS Office tool suite.
• Experience working within an engineering organization.
• Experience with lightning testing and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate EMC and EMI requirements for communication, sensor, electronic warfare, and other electromagnetic systems, subsystems, components, interconnects, and structures.
• Develop architectures to integrate components into higher-level systems and platforms.
• Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation, and computational electromagnetic analysis to predict performance and optimize designs against established requirements.
• Define and conduct tests to validate design performance against requirements.
• Support supplier electromagnetic testing for compliance with procedures and standards.
• Collect and analyze data on supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Support products throughout their lifecycle, from manufacturing to customer use, by recommending engineering solutions to issues.
• Support project management by providing work statements, budgets, schedules, and other required inputs, and by reporting project status.
