About The Position

Bausch + Lomb is a global eye health company focused on protecting and enhancing sight. The Electro-Mechanical Technician III role provides electro-mechanical support for production equipment in compounding, filling, and packaging. The team's goal is to minimize production downtime by troubleshooting and repairing equipment issues, including mechanical and electrical problems, and performing scheduled maintenance. This position involves working in a team to document troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on high-speed manufacturing equipment. Additional duties may include project work, offline rebuilds, and routine maintenance support.

Requirements

  • Three to five years as an EM Technician II or equivalent experience.
  • Specialization in automation system upgrades and repairs to PLC/controllers.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for electromechanical equipment.
  • High School diploma required.
  • 5-10 years in a pharmaceutical/FDA regulated environment.
  • Basic electrical, mechanical and PLC experience required.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are required.
  • Able to work quickly and under pressure.
  • Good documentation, computer, and math skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and quality conscious.
  • Good team-oriented and excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to work different shifts/weekends as needed to maintain the production schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair and document production equipment issues, including PLC programming (Siemens and AB) and HMI control systems.
  • Identify improvement opportunities for equipment design and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Meet and maintain all required training during the year (SOP, EHS, and HR).
  • Provide training to EMT1 and EMT2 associates.
  • Liaise with Engineering for new equipment.
  • Serve as part of the "on-call" support staff (24/7).
  • Support operational excellence and EHS initiatives.
  • Assume responsibility for GMP, ISO, EHS awareness and compliance within the respective area.
  • Attend and participate in OpEx improvement initiatives such as reducing costs and OEE improvements.
  • Perform all other duties, as assigned.
