This position is responsible for troubleshooting and performing major mechanical repairs with minimal supervision to ensure proper performance of equipment on site, including motors and refrigeration rooms to maximize up time. Training of staff as required and coordinating with other mechanics on duty for repairs and ensuring all assigned work is timely completed. The role involves ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on various machines, following diagrams, machine manuals, and manufacturer's instructions. The technician will troubleshoot malfunction components, systems, and apparatus using testing tools and equipment, including PLC issues, by observing mechanical devices in operation and listening for problems to plan repairs. They must read and comprehend Maintenance Equipment Manuals, OEM Technical documentation, and mechanical and electrical drawings/schematics, and use a PC for technical information search, documentation, and email communication. The position requires communicating with OEMs to resolve technical issues, safely working with AC & DC Voltages (24-480V), and replacing electrical components such as 3 phase motors, VFD's, sensors, motor starters, power supplies, and position sensing devices. Responsibilities also include removing defective parts using hoists, hand, and power tools, adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments, completing scheduled and emergency Work Orders using CMMS (MP2), keeping abreast of new technology, performing all work in accordance with OHSA standards, following blueprints for electrical installations, timely informing supervision of problems, and participating in special projects and other assigned duties.
