About The Position

Intec Automation Inc. is an established (25+ years of business), small automation company based in Rochester, NH that specializes in the design and building of custom automation equipment. To support our continued growth, we are looking for an energetic individual to serve as an Electro-Mechanical Technician II . The individual we are seeking must enjoy problem solving and rarely building the same machine twice. The company needs a hands-on, assertive individual that is self-motivated, pursuant of personnel development and growth, who is willing to share knowledge and enhance the capabilities of co-workers and the company alike. Assists in the design, evaluation, and repair of electro-mechanical equipment such as electronic controls, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment.

Requirements

  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and repair complex electro-mechanical equipment, identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
  • Proficiency in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, electronic voltmeters, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret schematics, product drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.)or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in mentoring or training junior technicians and contributing to process improvements.
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures and work instruction development.
  • Exposure to custom automation equipment design and assembly in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Meets all the requirements of an Electro-Mechanical Technician Level I
  • Has 3-5 years of experience as an electro-mechanical technician, with a deeper understanding of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Independently troubleshoots and repairs complex electro-mechanical equipment, identifying the root cause of failures and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Utilizes a wide range of test equipment, such as oscilloscopes and electronic voltmeters, to diagnose and repair issues.
  • Verifies dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, providing technical expertise and insight to the design, evaluation, and repair of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Trains and mentors less experienced technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Participates in the development and improvement of work instructions and quality control procedures.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, problem-solving, and technical skills.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Troubleshooting & repairing circuit boards which do not perform as expected on customer owned equipment through the RMA process.
  • Troubleshooting other electronic and mechanical parts on returned or in-house equipment.
  • Participate in improving the work instructions used by RMA Dept. and the QC procedures for existing products.
  • Train personnel in the use of test equipment, as needed.
  • Read dials or digital displays that indicate electronic characteristics such as voltage, frequency, distortion, inductance, and capacitance.
  • Compare test results with specifications and make a judgment as to acceptability of a product’s performance.
  • Read and comprehended product drawings, schematics, and other graphical description of the electromechanical functioning of a product.
  • Complete paperwork that communicates what part numbers were used in the repair, what was the cause of failure, how long did it take to repair the product, notes to customer or user, etc.
  • Adhere to policies of quality assurance, safety, biohazard control and cleanliness.
  • May be required to perform certain quality control check procedures to assure the product meets performance specifications.
  • Coordinates and may perform training of entry level and intermediate repair technicians to assure that all receive training on all products Vante must repair, in a timely manner.
  • Maintains departmental technical documents related to repairs and or history of product design.
  • Coordinating and planning outside technician training, typically at Intec facility.
  • Must be able to travel if there is a need to visit customer’s site for troubleshooting or onsite repair of relatively large volume of product.
  • At times will represent Repair department in meetings.
