About The Position

This role involves mid- to expert-level corrective and preventive maintenance on production assets. Responsibilities include observing equipment, identifying root causes of issues, disassembling components, inspecting for defects, adjusting mechanisms, repairing or replacing parts, and performing functional tests. The specialist will also recondition and repair machine tools, operate shop equipment, perform welding, maintain a clean work area, drive continuous improvement by documenting processes and cost savings, keep CMMS records, troubleshoot control systems, and utilize predictive maintenance technologies. Additionally, the role includes supporting and mentoring junior technicians, taking on small-team leadership, and adhering to safety rules and technical instructions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree with a technical concentration and 3+ years of related general‑industry experience; or 5+ years of related general‑industry experience; or completion of the ATS Technician Progression Program.
  • Proficiency with electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems; strong analytical and repair capability.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and specialized tools appropriate to the task.
  • Availability to travel as required.
  • Proficiency in Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills.
  • Proficiency in 120/208/240/480 Voltage Systems.
  • Proficiency in Hydraulics Experience.
  • Proficiency in Electrical Troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in Maintenance and Repair Skills.
  • Proficiency in Industrial Electrical Experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
  • Experience with Conveyor Systems.
  • Experience with Servo Motors.

Responsibilities

  • Own mid- to expert-level corrective and preventive maintenance across production assets.
  • Observe equipment in operation, pinpoint root causes, disassemble to access faulty components, inspect for defects, adjust mechanisms and control instruments, repair/replace parts, and verify performance with functional tests—electrical and mechanical.
  • Recondition and repair machine tools as needed to restore precision.
  • Independently execute maintenance to current industry standards.
  • Identify and source parts, supplies, and repair materials efficiently.
  • Operate shop equipment (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools); perform welding tasks when required.
  • Maintain 5S and excellent housekeeping throughout your work area.
  • Drive continuous improvement—documenting processes, outcomes, and cost savings.
  • Keep accurate CMMS records and review equipment history for recurring issues.
  • Troubleshoot control systems to resolve software, hardware, and configuration problems.
  • Leverage predictive maintenance technologies to capture and interpret performance data.
  • Support and mentor lower‑level technicians; take on small‑team leadership assignments and advanced tasks as part of your development.
  • Follow all safety rules and technical instructions; demonstrate strong situational awareness and proactively address unsafe conditions or behaviors.
