As an Electro-Mechanical FST, you’ll get hands-on with cutting-edge, high-performance Jenbacher gas engines (0.25-9.5 MW) – supporting critical energy solutions across industries and working with innovative fuel sources like biogas, landfill gas, coal mine gas, and more. Requirements

  • Prior field technician experience (automotive, power generation, heavy equipment, ships, aviation or diesel engines).
  • Analytical troubleshooting skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work remotely as needed.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).
  • Ability to meet company vehicle insurability standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Jenbacher, natural gas, or reciprocating engines.
  • Strong electrical skills (e.g., wiring panels and alternators).
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
  • PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) knowledge.
  • Background in power generation applications.
  • Ability to understand, implement, and communicate technical procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer focus and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and logic controls software.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on service activities according to engine maintenance protocols (e.g., replacing filters, conducting inspections, taking measurements).
  • Execute minor repairs and address issues beyond planned maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic failures, analyze historical engine data, and propose solutions.
  • Coordinate with third-party suppliers as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, subcontractors, and customers—both independently and as part of a team.
  • Communicate planned service activities and provide maintenance progress updates.
  • Take ownership of assigned sites and customers, proactively working to maximize engine reliability and great customer service.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, including actions taken, materials used, and recommendations for follow-up.
  • Maintain tools, critical spare parts, and company vehicles in good condition.
  • Complete timesheets, expense reports, EHS forms, and job reports promptly.
  • Adhere to all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures.
