About The Position

Join NELLSON and Become Part of a Winning Team of Professionals! We currently have an immediate opportunity for an Electro Mechanic to join the BAR DIVISION at our ONTARIO, CALIFORNIA location. This position will be responsible for trouble shooting automation and controls systems involving DCS, PLC’s, HMI’s, and process controllers. The role requires the ability to troubleshoot equipment and resolve issues efficiently. This role also requires some travel to customer sites for onsite commissioning of the equipment. The Electro mechanic must have thorough knowledge of electrical design and engineering techniques. The candidate will have a high level of Mechanical knowledge, preferably in the Food Industry. Requirements

  • 10 years of work experience in Manufacturing as a Controls Technician or an Electro mechanic or related fields.
  • 10 years of work experience in Mechanical maintenance of Food packaging Machinery.
  • A high level of mechanical knowledge in fabrication and welding.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical design and engineering techniques.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word, Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Possess the ability to multi-task and bring multiple projects to completion on time and on budget.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, problem solving, critical thinking, committed team player, with strong leadership and performance management skills capable of stepping up to assure that projects are completed.
  • Experience in Food Manufacturing environment required.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years machine building, automation, integration, or other automation intensive industry sector is preferred.
  • Experience with Solid Works is preferable.
  • Bilingual / Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot Electrical problems that arise during production.
  • Install and build panels for new projects
  • Install and configure HMIs.
  • Responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, products, procedures and criteria
  • Specify control components.
  • Ensure proper interdisciplinary coordination and effective communication on projects.
  • Work safely using LOTO and have a high level of Electrical safety knowledge.
  • Evaluate electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing, applying knowledge of electricity, programming, and materials.
  • Research, develop, design, and test a wide range of machinery, both as standard products and with custom features, according_to requirements of individual customers.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Complete special projects upon request and other duties may be assigned.
