About The Position

The Facility Maintenance Electro-Mechanic performs all responsibilities of a Maintenance Mechanic while specializing in the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and improvement of industrial manufacturing equipment and facility electrical systems. This role serves as the plant's electrical resource for lower-voltage systems and collaborates with the Department Lead and Maintenance Supervisor to determine whether electrical work should be completed internally or outsourced. Equipment serviced includes thermoformers, CNC machines, automation systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, conveyors, and other industrial manufacturing equipment, along with facility electrical systems. This position requires working safely with electrical systems while following all applicable electrical safety standards and CAT certification requirements.

Requirements

  • Understand 110- and 220-volt electrical circuitry.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools.
  • Safely use multimeters and CAT I/CAT II rated electrical testing equipment.
  • Ability to verify voltage, continuity, and circuit integrity.
  • Ability to verify proper operation of machinery controls.
  • Understand proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including Arc Flash protection.
  • Above-average knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, and general facility maintenance.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Hold a CAT II Electrical Certification or be willing to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional maintenance-related certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the plant electrical resource for lower-voltage single-phase electrical issues and maintenance.
  • Install and repair 110- and 220-volt single-phase electrical circuits.
  • Open and inspect low-energy electrical control panels.
  • Diagnose PLC input/output issues.
  • Perform wiring repairs within machinery in non-high-energy zones.
  • Troubleshoot equipment powered by standard electrical outlets.
  • Perform voltage checks on electrical control circuits.
  • Replace lighting bulbs and ballasts as needed.
  • Repair restroom fixtures.
  • Replace ceiling tiles and perform painting as required.
  • Complete general housekeeping duties.
  • Perform outdoor facility maintenance including yard work and snow removal.
  • Perform HVAC, plumbing, and light construction repairs as needed.
  • Complete assigned preventive maintenance tasks, including work orders, documentation, and recordkeeping.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for maintenance support.
