About The Position

This position assists maintenance personnel in maintaining plant grounds and equipment. The role requires the ability to work in a team environment, perform physical tasks, and possess mental competence for quick decision-making. The Electro/Mechanic B will be responsible for various maintenance and repair tasks, including electrical work, fabrication, and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the job including, but not limited to standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds and communicating effectively with co-workers.

  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
  • Mental competence to make decisions quickly.
  • Reading, writing, and basic math skills.
  • Basic wiring of 480/277 volts or less.
  • Ability to use a voltage meter on 480/277 volts or less.
  • Ability to troubleshoot wiring problems/correct problems in a timely matter.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Ability to weld, cut and fabricate as needed.
  • General knowledge of lathe and milling machine.
  • General knowledge of PLC controls and drives.
  • Ability to learn to do extensive troubleshooting with all electrical controls and wiring.

Responsibilities

  • Use hand tools and power tools to fabricate as needed.
  • Communicate with other team members for preventive maintenance.
  • Make decisions quickly.
  • Fill out check sheets and charts using reading, writing, and basic math skills.
  • Complete necessary work on work orders and record information on work orders.
  • Troubleshoot with Maintenance team members.
  • Perform basic wiring of 480/277 volts or less.
  • Use a voltage meter on 480/277 volts or less.
  • Troubleshoot wiring problems and correct problems in a timely manner.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Weld, cut, and fabricate as needed.
  • Report equipment problems and safety hazards to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Make inspections on various equipment as assigned and fill out check sheets.
  • Make repairs on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot PLC controls and drives.
  • Learn to perform extensive troubleshooting with all electrical controls and wiring.
  • Perform housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Report equipment problems and safety hazards to the Production Supervisor.
  • Use PPE for safety as required by OSHA and MSDS standards.
