We have an exciting opportunity for an Electro-Mech Technician III join our team with the Operations & Test Division. This is a JETS II CBA position with Amentum. The Electro-Mech Technician III will perform various duties in the design, assembly, installation, testing, calibration, operation, evaluation, modification, and repair of devices used in the conversion of electrical signals to mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic outputs and the sensors which convert mechanical, thermal and pressure measurements to electrical signals where primary methods, procedures, and standards have been determined. This role requires knowledge of laboratory techniques, methods, and equipment. The technician will perform maintenance and operation of electrical, hydraulic, thermal, pneumatic, and other types of mechanical equipment in assigned laboratories or work areas, including researching, documenting, acquiring parts, repairing, and calibration of electro-mechanical devices and systems. They will determine and develop methods, procedures, and laboratory equipment required to fulfill assignments and achieve prescribed objectives. This role also involves troubleshooting and investigative services for malfunctioning or failed pneumatic, hydraulic, pressure, thermal or other electro-mechanical measuring devices, servo systems or equipment employing energy conversion; repair and calibration of such equipment through personal knowledge and skills used in conjunction with applicable equipment manuals and checkout procedures. The technician will install, check out and operate equipment in assigned laboratory or work area and provide preventative maintenance including routine and special purging and cleaning when a system, equipment or device requires it. They will operate and perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of equipment and systems. Perform periodic readings and monitoring of various facility systems from a variety of sources; gauges, sensors, hand held devices, telemetry data to distributive control systems, etc. and record data in written and/or electronic format in hand-held portable and/or desktop computer systems. Works under the general guidance of supervision and may receive job assignments and interface with technical personnel. May be assisted by lower level technicians who have frequent contact with professional and others within the work area. Assemble, operate, and disassemble test equipment and properly dispose of components as defined by procedures. Adheres to written or standardized operating procedures, policies, and protocols for use of lab equipment and to conduct all other operation, maintenance, calibration, and safety related activities as defined for specific work area. Provides technical direction to other technicians. Develop, design, fabricate, modify, repair, and assemble unique prototype components using machining tools (e.g., lathes, mills, drill press, etc.). Perform assigned task in a safe manner and maintain a clean working environment by complying with all safety procedures and company policies. Operate standard equipment and/or instruments including hand-held power tools, meters, and oscilloscopes. Work in a team environment. Perform related duties as required.
