About The Position

Join a leading food manufacturing facility as a Controls Technician III, supporting a high-performing maintenance team responsible for maintaining and optimizing PLCs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, and industrial automation equipment. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving industrial control systems to ensure critical production systems operate safely and efficiently. You will work on advanced control systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working with industrial control systems
  • Strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Knowledge of motor control systems and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Experience working with industrial communication networks including Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and Profibus
  • Ability to work independently and solve complex technical problems
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent hands-on industry experience will be considered in place of formal education
  • Manufacturing experience in food, beverage, dairy, or processing facilities
  • Strong SCADA development and troubleshooting experience
  • Knowledge of process control loops and PID tuning
  • Experience using CMMS software
  • Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and Arc Flash safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, instrumentation, and automation equipment
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on industrial control systems
  • Calibrate pressure, flow, temperature, and level instrumentation
  • Analyze system failures and implement corrective actions
  • Support automation upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control drawings
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations teams to minimize production downtime
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and system documentation
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
