Electrification Engineering Intern

About The Position

JLG, an Oshkosh company, is seeking an Electrification Engineering Intern. JLG, founded in 1969, is a global leader in the access market, providing innovative solutions and equipment worldwide. As an Electrification Intern, you will work closely with the engineering team to learn how to utilize your unique skill set to design functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle high voltage electrical systems. You will perform engineering analysis and electrical design or re-design, and development of electrical systems and subsystems into existing and new vehicles.

Requirements

  • Perusing a Bachelor's in Electrical, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar associated discipline.
  • Must be able to shift focus between detailed cognitive work and occasional physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, data collection, and analysis in accordance with Oshkosh and general industry engineering standards and processes.
  • Support engineers in the preparation of plans, designs, calculations, technical documentation, and reports.
  • Assist with electrical component research, selection, and design activities to meet defined parameters and specifications while considering quality, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Support the design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and components used in vehicle electrification applications.
  • Assist with the development, testing, and troubleshooting of software used in vehicle electrification systems and engineering applications.
  • Support software development activities, including writing and modifying code, developing scripts or tools, analyzing data, and documenting software changes.
  • Assist engineers with vehicle electrification system design, integration, and validation activities for new and existing vehicles.
  • Support compliance with applicable regulations, engineering standards, and requirements across multiple regions and markets.
  • Collaborate with various engineering groups and disciplines across the organization.
  • Understand, follow, and promote shop safety practices and policies.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers.
  • Perform job duties in an ethical and professional manner consistent with the Oshkosh Way, the Company’s mission, quality objectives, policies, and procedures.
