About The Position

Performs a variety of skilled duties in the electrical trade for the purpose of maintaining, repairing, or remodeling county-owned and operated buildings and facilities. This role involves ensuring all work adheres to NEC standards and specifications, performing electrical installations and repairs, assisting in the operation and maintenance of electrical systems, completing required records, and exercising care and safety when using equipment and tools.

Requirements

Vocational school diploma with at least two (2) years of commercial electrical experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Experience in effectively troubleshooting basic electrical circuits and components.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must pass a criminal background check.
Must pass a drug test.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of electrical maintenance and repair duties in accordance with NEC standards and specifications.
Installs and repairs light fixtures, switches, receptacles, fuses, computer data lines, circuit breakers, and other electrical equipment.
Assists in the operation and maintenance of electrical systems such as building power services, generators, UPS units, lighting systems, and fire alarm systems.
Completes required records and logs, including mileage sheets, vehicle maintenance logs, purchase orders, requisitions, and OSHA safety sheets.
Uses various machinery and equipment, including vehicles, power tools, carpenter's/electrician's tools, backhoes, bobcats, bucket lifts, voltage meters, and torches.
Exercises care and safety when using equipment and tools.
Troubleshoots basic electrical circuits and components.
Takes direction from supervisor and coordinates with co-workers and County employees.
Complies with Horry County and Department policies regarding absences, paid leave, and other policies.
Responds to emergency calls.
Performs other maintenance duties as assigned to meet department needs.
