About The Position

Reporting to the Electrical Shop Manager, the Electrician will assist in development and implementation of Electrical Shop policies and procedures, liaise directly with other department personnel to ensure project goals are met on budget, while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.

Requirements

  • Certificate of Qualification for a 442A Industrial Electrician or 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrician along with the completion of full appropriate apprenticeship program is required.
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Must have Valid Driver’s License
  • Must provide MVR driving record
  • Must have Valid Passport

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years’ experience in a custom automation manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Previous experience with SolidWorks is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and schematics and electrical code specifics to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations
  • Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components
  • Test electrical and electronic equipment and components from continuity, current, voltage and resistance
  • Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
  • May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentations and related devices
  • Wire control panels and machine field devices in accordance with Electrical drawings
  • Ensure wiring meets the Electrical Safety Code
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work safely in a team environment and actively participate in group meetings safely when required
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and or travel as required in varying timelines
  • Work with Electrical Project Lead to ensure scheduled milestones are met
  • Ensure scheduled milestones are met

  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc. Conduct Code

  • Mentor apprentices
  • As required, assist Electrical Project Lead in delegating project tasks to other Electrical team members.
  • Assist the Electrical Project Lead to ensure all are working in a safe manner and following the appropriate ISO procedures
  • Travel to customer location for service and install
