About The Position

Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership. The Opportunity: Working in the Refinery Maintenance Department as part of the Electrical team involves the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of Electrical equipment at the refinery. Requirements

  • Demonstrated Commitment to Injury & Incident Free (IIF) Operation and Safety and Loss Prevention.
  • Current & Up to date with Active Learner Training.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License (Class 5 Minimum).
  • Electrical BCTQ & IP/Red Seal with 5 years relevant experience.
  • A working knowledge of JDE, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize work.
  • Demonstrated Strong Teamwork, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated behaviors that support Parkland’s Diversity and Inclusion culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to positively interact and communicate with personnel from all divisions and levels of the company, contractors, and vendors.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated to further knowledge and skills by utilizing all available information and resources.

  • Comfortable speaking in public forums such as team meetings, tailboard discussions, and shift meetings.

  • Troubleshooting experience of industrial electrical power systems
  • Operations and Maintenance of low to high voltage switchgear including protective devices
  • Motor and Cable diagnostic testing
  • Troubleshooting and repair of Variable Speed Drives and Soft Starters
  • Allen Bradley / Rockwell PLC’s and software programs
  • Emergency power systems, UPS and Batteries
  • Electrical Heat Trace both Polymeric and Mineral Insulated
  • Communication platforms (Analog, Digital, Ethernet, Devicenet, Modbus etc.)
  • Interpretation and understanding of P&ID’s, Electrical Schematics, and equipment manuals
  • Previous Supervisory experience

Responsibilities

  • Low to High Voltage power system switching with protection and control element
  • Maintenance and diagnostic testing of power distribution equipment including switchgear, transformers, and protective relaying.
  • Maintenance and repair of emergency, UPS, and battery backup systems.
  • Motor and Cable diagnostic testing.
  • Installation, testing and commissioning of new Electrical equipment including new construction with conduit and cable work.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of Variable Speed Drives and Soft Starters.
  • Troubleshooting and maintenance of refinery Programable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Interpretation of P&ID’s, Electrical Schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Preventative Maintenance of electrical equipment and supporting reliability improvement initiatives.
