About The Position

The Electrical / Electronics Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and installing industrial electrical systems and electronic controls within a manufacturing or industrial facility. This role supports both production equipment and building infrastructure, ensuring safe, reliable, and code-compliant operation. The ideal candidate brings strong industrial electrical experience, control systems knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience performing industrial or commercial electrical maintenance.
  • Experience with industrial power distribution systems up to 600 VAC required.
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA 70E and electrical safety standards.
  • Relevant trade licenses (e.g., Journeyman, Master Electrician, etc.) as required.
  • Strong electrical and electronic troubleshooting capability.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of NEC and applicable Florida electrical codes.
  • Experience with VFDs, motor controls, relays, automation, and control panels.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to urgent maintenance needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or vocational training in Electrical Technology, Electronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with medium-voltage systems (2300 VAC / 4160 VAC) preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, data center, or industrial environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial electrical systems up to and including 600 VAC, including motors, starters, VFDs, panels, transformers, and control circuits.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic and low-voltage control systems, including PLCs, DDC systems, relays, sensors, and instrumentation.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and manufacturer manuals to resolve equipment deficiencies.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical and control systems, including weekly and monthly inspections with accurate documentation.
  • Install, modify, and expand electrical distribution systems, lighting circuits, outlets, and control wiring in accordance with NEC and local code requirements.
  • Cut, bend, thread, and install conduit and raceway systems.
  • Maintain electrical components of HVAC systems, air compressors, dryers, pumps, kitchen equipment, and other facility infrastructure.
  • Perform light plumbing and general facilities maintenance support as needed.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, layout modifications, and system improvements.
  • Support training and mentoring of junior technicians.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues and participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Complete work orders, time entries, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety standards, including NFPA 70E and arc flash requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
