About The Position

As a 1st Shift Electrician in the manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems within the production environment. Your primary focus will be on installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures to support continuous manufacturing processes. You will collaborate closely with maintenance teams and engineers to troubleshoot electrical issues, minimizing downtime and optimizing equipment performance. This role demands adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance to protect personnel and assets. Ultimately, your expertise will contribute to maintaining a reliable electrical infrastructure that supports the company’s manufacturing goals and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid RI electrician license as required by state regulations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an electrician, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial automation systems.
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools and techniques.
  • Certification in electrical safety training.
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and codes.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Experience with PLCs and automation systems enhance the ability to work with modern manufacturing equipment and improve system reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems and components in manufacturing facilities according to blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical codes.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions in machinery, control panels, and other equipment to minimize production interruptions.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to plan and execute electrical upgrades and modifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including maintenance logs and compliance documentation.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Respond promptly to emergency electrical issues during the 1st shift to restore operations efficiently.
