Electrician (2nd Shift) - Norfolk, NE
About The Position
Wis-Pak is hiring an Electrician in Norfolk, Nebraska, for a second-shift position scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., with Monday-Sunday availability. Pay is $33.10 per hour plus a $1.75 shift differential. The Electrician works closely with the Maintenance Manager or Lead to support safe, reliable plant operations through electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance. The role also supports general plant operations, accurate maintenance records, compliance with safety and food safety requirements, and coordination with contractors and technical experts. The work takes place in a hands-on, fast-paced environment with varying temperatures, noise, and indoor and outdoor conditions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and technical training or equivalent experience.
- Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
- 3–5 years of electrical experience.
- Strong knowledge of industrial motor controls.
- Ability to communicate clearly with coworkers, leadership, and contractors.
- Flexibility to handle changing workloads, emergency call-ins, and occasional travel.
- Authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis; the company will not sponsor employment visas.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English at a level necessary to perform the essential duties.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Electrical experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Allen Bradley systems and/or PLC programming.
Responsibilities
- Perform electrical installations and maintenance using industry best practices.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment issues quickly to minimize downtime.
- Respond to maintenance calls and safely start up or shut down equipment.
- Repair or replace electrical components in compliance with local and state codes.
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks and maintain accurate records.
- Read and work from instructions, sketches, and blueprints.
- Operate equipment and support general plant operations when needed.
- Safely use power tools, electrical test meters, welding equipment, and lifts.
- Order parts, estimate repair timelines, and document maintenance work.
- Partner with outside contractors and technical experts when needed.
- Follow safety, food safety, sanitation, and plant regulations.
