About The Position

The Electrician / Electrical Assembly Technician is responsible for installing, wiring, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, industrial controls, and equipment used in the manufacturing and operation of concrete batch plants and related systems. This role supports production operations, equipment testing, commissioning, and continuous improvement initiatives by ensuring electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable electrical codes, company policies, and safety standards. This position works closely with Engineering, Production, Service, and Operations teams to support the manufacturing of low-voltage industrial control panels and industrial electrical equipment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and controls.
  • Experience troubleshooting motors, relays, sensors, VFDs, PLC systems, HMIs, and automated equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, control drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of NEC, OSHA regulations, and electrical safety standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance systems and documentation.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year technical degree, apprenticeship, or formal electrical training related to electrical systems preferred.
  • 3–5 years of industrial or manufacturing electrical experience preferred.
  • Experience building industrial control panels, motor control starters, or industrial process equipment preferred.
  • Experience with concrete batch plants, industrial process equipment, or heavy manufacturing equipment preferred.
  • Journeyman Electrician license preferred.
  • Familiarity with Allen-Bradley controls, FactoryTalk, or similar industrial control platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Install, wire, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and production equipment.
  • Assemble and wire low-voltage industrial control panels, motor control starters, and batching equipment.
  • Install and terminate motors, sensors, relays, disconnects, junction boxes, VFDs, and field wiring associated with industrial batching systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, panel layouts, Bills of Materials, and technical drawings.
  • Troubleshoot industrial controls, PLC systems, HMIs, and automated equipment.
  • Support electrical testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities prior to shipment and during startup.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical issues using testing devices, meters, and technical manuals.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA regulations, NEC standards, company policies, and electrical safety procedures.
  • Follow proper Lockout/Tagout procedures and maintain safe work practices at all times.
  • Assist with equipment installations, facility upgrades, and plant improvement projects.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and production downtime in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Service teams to identify and resolve electrical and controls-related issues.
  • Document repairs, maintenance activities, and parts usage accurately.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
