About The Position

The New York City Department of Transportation’s Cycling & Micromobility unit is advancing the next phase of the City’s Streets Plan, building on the progress made since 2021 in delivering protected bike lanes and safer, more connected corridors for cyclists and micromobility users. As NYC prepares for its second Streets Plan targeting one million daily cycling trips by 2030 the agency is investing in expanded network development, wider and more durable lane designs, and neighborhood-scale improvements that support the growing number of riders and delivery workers. This role will directly support the Cycling & Micromobility Network Expansion Program, helping deliver world class street designs and the infrastructure needed to meet the City’s ambitious mobility goals. The Division of Traffic Operations is seeking skilled and dedicated electricians to join our Electrical Operations Unit. This role involves working under supervision to install, repair, and maintain high- and low-tension electrical systems that support lighting, heating, power, and communications across buildings, structures, and highways. Electricians will support this initiative by installing, maintaining, and inspecting the electrical infrastructure needed for new cycling and micromobility projects across the city.
