Requirements

  • Valid Ontario Electrician Certificate
  • College-level education or equivalent work-related knowledge of building operations & maintenance
  • Minimum 5 years related experience in facility maintenance/operations
  • Work well within a team
  • Demonstrated computer skills and experience with CMMS & BAS
  • Must be physically able to do the job
  • Eligible to obtain Security Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Analyze electrical drawings, specifications, and instructions in order to troubleshoot, repair, and install components of normal and emergency power systems (up to 600V)
  • Install electrical circuits and all types of electrical equipment and appliances including ground leads, lighting fixtures, life safety systems, and other circuits as needed
  • Measure, cut, thread, and install electrical conduits
  • Mount motors, transformers, and light fixtures into position and complete circuits according to drawings and specs.
  • Inspect lighting systems, emergency power systems, alarm systems, HVAC systems, medical equipment, etc.
  • Isolate and repair the source of trouble and fault in the electrical system and any type of electrical equipment
  • Replace or repair faulty components including switches, sockets, ballasts, light bulbs/tubes, and other simple elements of electrical systems.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance programs for power equipment systems, alarm systems, communication systems, and medical equipment.
  • Respond to any other assigned work events to gather information and rectify.
