About The Position

Under the direction of Supervision and the Electrical Leader, this role involves carrying out assignments and completing work orders on a daily basis. Responsibilities include adjusting, repairing, and installing interior and exterior lighting, emergency lighting systems, fire alarm systems, power circuits, generated power circuits, power control circuits, and appliances. The position also involves assisting with recommendations for equipment repair or replacement, requisitioning materials, following safety procedures, instructing personnel on equipment use, communicating with building staff, assisting other trades, cleaning up work debris, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to read written directions and literature in their field with the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • A minimum of a State of Michigan Electrical Journeymen's License or a State of Michigan Electrical Masters License is required.
  • Possess or attain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to install and service, but not limited to, various types of lighting systems, lighting control systems, power circuits, fire alarm systems, and motor controls.
  • Must be able to work from and use aerial platforms, ladders, man lifts and Ariel truck.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Proficient with technology.

Responsibilities

  • Adjusting, repairing, and installation of interior and exterior lighting, emergency lighting systems, fire alarm systems, power circuits, and generated power circuits, power control circuits, appliances, etc.
  • Assist in recommendations on the repair or replacement of equipment under their care.
  • Requisition material for jobs in accordance to standard procedure.
  • Follow recommended and established safety procedures and standards.
  • Instruct personnel in the best use of equipment they maintain to facilitate the greatest utilization of that equipment.
  • Communicate with building staff both written and verbally.
  • Assist other trades as needed.
  • Clean up work debris.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
