About The Position

This position is responsible for carrying out work assignments and completing electronic work orders on a daily basis. The technician will adjust, repair, and test thermostats (both electrical and pneumatic), and repair, lubricate, and test electrical and pneumatic damper control motors, valves, and other related equipment. The role also involves adjusting gas-fired burners, combustion controls, and gas valves, and maintaining pneumatic and DDC controls. Knowledge in the repair of Commercial Kitchen equipment is required. The technician may be required to work second shift and will be assigned uniforms that must be worn during scheduled working hours. They must sign in at the main office during regular school hours and leave a copy of the work order or written communication stating work performed with the custodian before leaving a building. Duties also include picking up debris and performing other assigned duties, such as assisting the Plumbing Department and other general repairs.

Requirements

  • Ability to read written directions and literature in their field with the ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • A minimum of four (4) years experience in the heating and ventilation field.
  • Proficient with technology.
  • Must hold a valid operator's license.
  • Possess or attain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL).
  • Ability to perform welding, soldering, and brazing.

Nice To Haves

  • State of Michigan Mechanical License related to HVAC preferred, specifically (Unlimited Heating, Unlimited Refrigeration, and Unlimited A/C Service).
