About The Position

As an Electrician at Z-Modular , a division of Zekelman Industries , you will be responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and testing electrical equipment in commercial and industrial construction environments. This role is ideal for a licensed electrician with strong code knowledge, precision installation skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and project execution from start to finish.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a commercial electrician (journeyman level).
  • Valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC and building codes.
  • Proven experience running and laying out electrical conduit with precision.
  • Ability to work independently from descriptions and blueprints.
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and commitment to completing projects start to finish.
  • Willingness to work overtime, night shifts, and extended schedules as required.
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work collaboratively with other craftsmen.
  • Ability to routinely lift and move objects weighing more than 50 pounds.
  • Ability to crawl, stand, stoop, bend, crouch, kneel, sit, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to push and pull materials and equipment as required.
  • Ability to perform repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work as a primary job function for more than 70% of the workday.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and construction environments while wearing required PPE.
  • Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, maintain, and test electrical equipment and wiring systems in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Prepare work areas for installation of electrical equipment.
  • Install and connect wiring and electrical components in accordance with NEC, building codes, and job specifications.
  • Operate tools and equipment only when properly trained and certified, including power tools and lifts.
  • Set up and operate hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers, and cable vacuum systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings to complete installations accurately.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances per drawings and plans.
  • Secure and lock up tools and equipment after use.
  • Deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, project teams, and other trades.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety rules and PPE requirements.
