Electrician
About The Position
Westlake Pipe & Fittings is seeking an Electrician to join their team. This role involves troubleshooting and performing preventative and corrective maintenance on production lines and equipment. The Electrician will also be responsible for overhauling and installing new equipment, facility maintenance, and fabricating custom parts. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to work with precision tools, and collaboration with other trades. The Electrician will operate various machinery to create custom parts and ensure all safety policies are followed.
Requirements
- 442A required.
- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilograms.
- Ability to work rotating shifts.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting and providing immediate preventative and corrective maintenance support to production lines and facilitating change-over.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Overhaul and install new equipment.
- Perform facility maintenance and maintain clean and safe work area.
- Report on work performed and time spent to Maintenance Supervisor.
- Generate parts request to ensure adequate inventory.
- Generate and complete work orders as assigned.
- Perform equipment change-overs and production line set ups.
- Read blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic components.
- Work with a wide array of precision tools, such as Vernier Calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, OD tapes.
- Work with other trades’ groups and contractors to complete project assignments.
- Operates grinder, saw, lathe and milling machines to make customized parts or repairs.
- Fabricates custom parts, fixtures and guarding by means of arc welding, grinding, oxyacetylene cutting.
- Assembles and installs machinery and equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies.
- Coverage in the Pipe Plant.
- All other relevant duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
