About The Position

As an Electrician at Primoris Energy Services in Sherman, Texas, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a variety of industrial and commercial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes, safety procedures, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure efficient and reliable electrical operations.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Completion of an approved electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience.
Valid Journeyman Electrician license in Texas or ability to obtain.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a qualified electrician, preferably in industrial or commercial environments.
Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
Proficient in using a variety of electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and at heights.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
Read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to determine the appropriate layout of electrical systems.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with other trades and team members to ensure project completion.
Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices or less experienced electricians.
