About The Position

The Electrician performs electrical installation, maintenance, repair, inspection, and operational support for temporary Field Office Spaces (FOS), latrines, generators, and site infrastructure. Responsibilities include maintaining electrical systems in accordance with NEC, UFC, NFPA codes, and host installation regulations.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent GED.
  • Five (5) years' experience in the commercial electrical service and maintenance trade.
  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent (NITC) in good standing.
  • Experience performing electrical installation, inspection, and maintenance in accordance with NEC and NFPA standards.
  • Ability to install, inspect, and maintain generator electrical interfaces and power distribution systems.
  • Competence in grounding/bonding requirements for communications racks and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of DoD, Service, and host installation electrical requirements.
  • Must be trained to meet Federal, GEPA, and Host Installation requirements related to safety and hazardous materials.

  • Competency in Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Possess required security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain electrical power systems for Field Office Spaces (FOS) and latrine units.
  • Ensure proper installation of 100-amp electrical service and labeled breaker panels.
  • Install grounded duplex 120V AC and 250V AC outlets in accordance with NEC Article 250.
  • Install and connect electrical power to Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) such as communication racks.
  • Ensure wiring follows AWG standards for load capacity.
  • Install sufficient overhead lighting to illuminate all work areas per UFC 3-530-01.
  • Ensure emergency lighting operates for at least 20 minutes during power outage.
  • Install exterior lighting while ensuring it is shielded to comply with base environmental requirements.
  • Ensure FOS and latrines are pre-wired to accept three‑phase commercial power or generator input.
  • Support electrical integration of Tier 4 diesel generators used for 24/7 power supply.
  • Maintain log books documenting electrical performance of generators and any deviations.
  • Ensure grounding and bonding compliance IAW MDA IC 8350.01 and MIL-HDBK-419A.
  • Verify facility grounding resistance does not exceed 10 ohms using the Fall of Potential method.
  • Comply with NEC, NFPA 101, NFPA 10, UFC 3-600-01, and host installation electrical safety requirements.
  • Support Fire Protection requirements including installation and maintenance of required fire extinguishers.
  • Perform electrical work only after receiving environmental and safety approvals from COR/TPOC.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
