About The Position

We are looking for a versatile Electrician to join our team, serving a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, and light industrial clients. This role is built for a professional who holds or is looking to finish their requirements to achieve their Red Seal Endorsement (RSE). As a core member of our electrical division, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and functionality of electrical systems across various environments. Whether you are a fully certified Journeyperson or a senior apprentice nearing the end of your required hours, you will work to the Red Seal Occupational Standard (RSOS), representing the gold standard of the Canadian electrical trade.

Requirements

  • Certification Status: Must be a Journeyperson or a Senior Apprentice currently looking to finish their requirements to achieve their Red Seal Endorsement (RSE).
  • Technical Breadth: Strong knowledge of electrical theory and the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals across residential and commercial sectors.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to work independently to solve complex electrical issues on-site.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to stand for long periods, work in confined spaces or at heights, and lift up to 25kg.
  • Driver’s License: Valid Class 5 license with a clean driving record for travel to various job sites.

Responsibilities

  • System Installation: Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, and control systems in diverse settings.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure all installations and repairs strictly adhere to the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and local provincial amendments.
  • Wiring & Circuitry: Lay out and install branch circuitry, including conduit, cable trays, and various wire types (NMD, AC90, Teck).
  • Equipment Service: Connect and service power equipment such as motors, generators, transformers, and renewable energy systems (e.g., EV chargers, solar inverters).
  • Advanced Troubleshooting: Use diagnostic equipment (multimeters, megohmmeters, power quality analyzers) to identify and rectify faults in energized and de-energized systems.
  • Safety Leadership: Maintain a zero-compromise approach to safety, including proper use of PPE, Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, and working in compliance with NFPA 70E/CSA Z462 standards.
  • Mentorship: If certified, provide guidance and sign-off for junior apprentices. If finishing requirements, actively document your progress in Major Work Activities (MWAs) to prepare for the Interprovincial Exam.
