About The Position

The Electrician is a critical technical specialist responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of all campus electrical power, lighting, and life safety systems. In this role, you'll leverage your expertise to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical distribution systems and industrial equipment that keep our facilities operating at peak performance. As a subject matter expert on electrical, fire alarm, and life safety systems, you'll play a vital role in maintaining world-class building operations while ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance. This position directly supports JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional facility management services to our clients through technical excellence and proactive system maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with demonstrated electrical maintenance experience
  • NFPA-70E safety training and OSHA-10 certification
  • Proven ability to analyze electrical system operations, diagnose malfunctions, and implement effective corrective actions
  • Physical capability to work on ladders, roofs, and in confined spaces (closets, crawl spaces, attics, vaults); ability to lift and carry heavy loads
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications including MS Office, Outlook, and Work Order Management Systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to prepare clear oral and written reports
  • Availability for on-call work, evening, night, and weekend shifts as required

Nice To Haves

  • State-issued Electrical License or trade license
  • Working knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Experience with heating and cooling systems, boilers, pumps, valves, and water treatment equipment
  • Familiarity with engineering design and operational aspects of building critical systems
  • Experience developing budget recommendations for facility repairs and capital improvements
  • Knowledge of inventory management and vendor evaluation processes

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operation, repair, and preventive maintenance of building electrical power, lighting distribution systems, and emergency backup systems
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on all electrical, life safety, and fire alarm systems; troubleshoot and respond to operational and emergency situations
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical controls, switching devices, and motor controls while adhering to NFPA-70E standards and proper Arc Flash PPE protocols
  • Monitor equipment performance, record readings, analyze system operations, and implement corrective actions to ensure optimal functionality
  • Prioritize and execute all preventive maintenance, corrective work orders, and emergent repairs for the site (annual, monthly, weekly, and daily schedules)
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels of tools, materials, and supplies; prepare purchase order requests and develop vendor relationships for stock materials
  • Identify and remediate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) issues; ensure compliance with departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials
