Requirements

  • Minimum 2-5 years relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have a valid Ontario industrial electrician trade license 442A
  • Experience troubleshooting with PLC’s (AB Factory Talk, Studio & SEW), logic controllers and variable speed and servo drives (Rockwell, SEW & Others)
  • Experience reading and troubleshooting electrical diagrams and schematics drawings
  • Experience in servicing General Power Distribution Systems (including IR scanning, oil analysis on transformers, visual and electrical inspection)
  • Experience on troubleshooting Life Support Systems (fire alarms, emergency lighting, speakers and others)
  • Experience inspecting and troubleshooting Lightning Protection Systems to ensure resistance meets the ESA Specifications and all applicable local regulations if applicable

Nice To Haves

  • Desirable to have a valid Construction and Maintenance 309A
  • PLC programming on controls, network and automation experience would be an asset
  • Hands on experience on panel troubleshooting, servo drives, plant controls (SCADA), and highly automated packaging would be considered an asset
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment would be considered a definite asset

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate solid communication and interpersonal skills in a team-based work environment
  • Ensure production downtime is minimized and production output is maximized
  • Perform electrical preventative maintenance on all facility equipment as assigned
  • Ensure the Canadian Electrical Code with Provincial supplement is adhered to for all plant equipment
  • Respond promptly to breakdown calls and troubleshoot/repair the problems
  • Perform breakdown analysis to create action plans to address root causes
  • Perform electrical maintenance activities safely and report unsafe conditions
  • Perform PLC troubleshooting
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in maintenance shop
  • Requires standing, walking, reaching and bending for periods of time across all areas of the facility. Ability to lift up to 30lbs in a safe manner.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality; flexibility in work schedule to accommodate business requirements; including weekends and rotating shifts
  • Some repairs will be conducted in high or low temperature and/or confined space
