About The Position

Turner Industries Group is hiring an NCCER-certified Electrician for long-term work in the Baytown, Texas area. The Electrician plans layouts and installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, and control equipment. This is a non-exempt role reporting to the Foreman. Duties are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. The schedule is 5/10s, with overtime and callouts.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• NCCER certification.
• One to four years of experience in the specified skill, depending on mechanic level.
• Knowledge of electrician's tools and how to use them.
• Qualification is required for work on or above 600V or 69kV industrial high-voltage distribution systems.
• Complete a post-offer drug and alcohol screen and physical evaluation, and sign acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
• Comply with company and client job-site safety requirements.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Plan new or modified installations to minimize material waste, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, or unreliable wiring.
• Prepare sketches showing wiring and equipment locations, or follow diagrams and blueprints; ensure concealed wiring is installed before walls, ceilings, and flooring are completed.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
• Pull wiring through conduit and splice wires.
• Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment.
• Install control and distribution apparatus, including switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.
• Connect power cables to equipment, such as electric ranges or motors, and install grounding leads.
• Test circuit continuity to ensure electrical compatibility and component safety.
• Observe installed equipment or systems to identify hazards and determine whether adjustments, relocation, or replacement are needed.
• Repair faulty equipment or systems as needed.
• Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
