About The Position

Hood Packaging Corporation, one of the largest manufacturers of paper packaging for a variety of products, is looking to fill the following position at their Tifton, GA facility: An Electronics Specialist is responsible to repair and maintain Electrical and Electronic equipment in the facility. Duties include ensuring that they read the maintenance order properly, ensuring all raw materials and tools are available, performing preventive maintenance, and properly storing all tools, waste, and unused materials, and following all quality check requirements/ISO procedures. An Electronics Specialist must be able to read work orders, wiring diagrams, blueprints, or any other type of schematics. They must be able to communicate orally with all employees and supervisors when working in teams or when troubleshooting equipment and keep accurate records in their “log book”. They must be able to read a tape measure accurately, operate a calculator, and possess excellent computer knowledge & skills, for advanced mathematical computations. They must be able to recognize colors and shapes to ensure maintenance meets work order requirements. Must be able to lift 40-80 pounds, climb up steps/ladders in order to troubleshoot/repair the equipment. Must be able to push/pull tool carts and be able to lift up to 50 pounds to repair machines, maneuver parts/raw materials. It is essential that all employees work in a safe manner. All Electronics Specialists must ensure guards are in place, follow lock-tag-try & ZES procedures, observe hazards such as nip points, Electrical hazards, Thermal hazards, Chemical hazards, and follow plant and department safety rules.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of reading, writing, advanced mathematics on approximately a 14th grade level.
  • Experience necessary and is obtained by Technical School Training (2 year degree) or a minimum of 5 years experience working as a maintenance person and qualified in two (2) or more maintenance skills.
  • Excellent mechanical comprehension/ability.
  • Good organizational skills & housekeeping skills are a must.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends.
