About The Position

This job posting is for an existing vacancy. The Electrician will be responsible for ensuring all associated lighting and power are in proper working order, adhering to all codes and company procedures. The role involves completing electrical repairs and installations on all equipment and machinery, including backup to assembly line programs, and creating and modifying programs. Responsibilities also include timely completion of paperwork such as work orders, time sheets, log board entries, and line book revisions. The position requires ordering parts, following parts received procedures, and maintaining up-to-date documentation of all assembly equipment through MVP. The Electrician will make recommendations for critical spare parts inventory and provide input for Assembly Line Preventative Maintenance plans. Routine preventive maintenance, maintaining a clean work area, conducting electrical safety audits, and assisting in the implementation of continuous improvement suggestions are also key duties. The role includes assisting in training new electricians and apprentices, providing support to the Production Department and Facilities, and performing other duties as assigned. Adherence to all company safety rules, legislative requirements of the OHSA, Environment and ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards, and practicing Kaizen principles are mandatory.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Licensed Industrial Electrician (442A) preferably in Automotive industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with PLC programming.
  • Extensive experience with pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Leverages problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all associated lighting and power are in proper working order.

  • Complete electrical repairs/ installation on all equipment and machinery including backup to assembly line programs, and creating and modifying programs.
  • Complete paperwork in a timely manner. This includes work orders, time sheets, log board entries, and line book revisions.
  • Order parts and follow the parts received procedure.
  • Maintain up to date documentation of all assembly equipment. This includes issuing work orders and documenting all changes and repairs through MVP.
  • Make recommendations to the critical spare parts inventory for the assembly equipment.
  • Provide input and recommendations for Assembly Line Preventative Maintenance plans.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Conduct electrical safety audits as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement suggestions on the production line.
  • Assist in training all new electricians, including apprentices where applicable.
  • Provide support to the Production Department and Facilities as required.
  • Follow all departmental and general procedures where applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Department Manager.
  • Abide by all company safety rules, responsibilities, policies, and procedures including the legislative requirements of the OHSA.
  • Work in compliance and conform to the Environment and ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.
  • Adopt and practice Kaizen principles; participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.
