Requirements

  • Current resident of Wisconsin.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License, able to be maintained throughout employment.
  • Must obtain CDL within 6 months of appointment.
  • Class 1 Airfield Driver’s License within 6 months of appointment.
  • Valid State of Wisconsin Master Electrician License.
  • Successful completion of a State Indentured Apprenticeship.
  • At least five (5) years of Journeyman electrical experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and supervise electrical services staff, install, test, maintain, and repair electrical infrastructure.
  • Ensure that all electrical work is performed to applicable standards and codes.
  • Provide project oversight and budget management of projects.
  • Make budget recommendations for current and future projects.
  • Assign work orders and establish priorities, providing daily supervision to ensure the successful performance of the electrical team.
  • Create work schedules and approve payroll.
  • Participate in and recommend hiring of the electrical team and associated personnel evaluations.
  • Perform Routine and emergency repairs of electrical systems and equipment including, but not limited to, wiring, equipment, fixtures, generators, appliances, Fire Alarms, and other related items.
  • Perform inspections of department assets for functionality, maintenance, and code compliance.
  • Utilize electronic work order system as well as other computer-related programs.
  • Inventory and purchase supplies, review blueprints, building codes, and technical manuals.
  • Assist with plan reviews, project management, maintain logs, and ensure safety codes and regulations are followed.
  • Establish and maintain electrical product standards.
  • Provide input and oversight on projects including but not limited to capital or in-house projects.
  • Attend planning and progress meetings while providing input on electrical infrastructure.
  • Maintain electrical records, including as-builts and record documents.
  • Obtain electrical permits as needed for work performed.
  • Purchase electrical supplies utilizing the electronic ordering system.
  • Monitor budget to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Inspect and maintain all equipment and tools related to the performance of the electrical team.
  • Record and track maintenance performed.
  • Locate and identify buried utilities accurately and efficiently.
  • Work with other trades and outside vendors in the repair and maintenance of various equipment and infrastructure.
