Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled technical and repair work in electrical repairs and in maintaining electrical elements of machinery and mechanical equipment, such as engines, motors, lighting, generators, control and safety systems, communication equipment and production machines and equipment. This role involves performing skilled work in placing and removing electrical components, repairing wires, cable conduit, and various electrical components. It also includes installing electrical conduit, cable, and vaults, as well as inspecting, testing, calibrating, and adjusting various controls or meters used in the electrical system. The electrician will install and maintain all electrical equipment to ensure compliance with the latest NEC, OSHA, and NFPA codes and requirements, and assist in the installation and start-up of new equipment. The position requires maintaining and repairing electrical systems, conducting duties in a manner that provides for the utmost protection of the environment, and reporting all incidents and near-misses related to personnel, equipment, and the environment. The role also involves understanding and participating in the MOC system, maintaining equipment records and the EAM work order system, and working with Maintenance Foremen and the data base administrator to update equipment tasks. Troubleshooting electrical devices in operation and making necessary repairs/modifications is a key responsibility, as is performing electrical, instrument, analyzer, air conditioning, and heating repairs. The electrician must be able to read and understand electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications, and repair electrical systems and equipment by diagnosing malfunctioning apparatuses, determining faulty wiring, and inspecting and testing malfunctioning machinery. Maintaining electrical equipment, parts, and supplies inventory, and estimating cost, time, and materials for electrical projects are also part of the role. The ability to cost track and adhere to Company budget, collaborate effectively, and integrate into a positive team environment is essential. Maintaining employee confidence and protecting corporate assets by keeping information confidential is required. Adherence to established work schedule, attendance standards, and punctuality is expected, as is adherence to the company’s values and support of the company vision and mission. Other responsibilities include assisting other crafts as needed and performing other duties as assigned by management.
