About The Position

Under general supervision, the Electrician-Intermediate provides skilled craftsmanship as a journeyman electrician. The role involves installing, maintaining, and servicing electrical systems, including electrical work on buildings and equipment. It may also include skilled electrical work related to air conditioning or refrigeration, material takeoffs, and assistance with job cost estimates.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Ability to diagnose electrical issues and maintain, adjust, repair, and replace electrical systems and components.
• Ability to read design drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to use and read millimeters, meggers, and test equipment.
• Ability to work in a multi-trade team environment and assist outside the electrical trade as needed.
• Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, and building rooftops.
• Demonstrated knowledge of equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and service electrical systems by performing electrical work in the construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of buildings and equipment.
• Plan the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
• Observe the functioning of installed equipment and systems to detect hazards and determine whether adjustments, relocation, or replacement are needed.
• Perform skilled electrical work related to air conditioning or refrigeration.
• Provide material takeoffs for jobs and assist in preparing job cost estimates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
