About The Position

EPCOR is looking for an experienced Electrical Leadhand to lead a crew at Gold Bar Wastewater Treatment Plant. In this role, you’ll provide hands-on leadership, assign daily work, and make sure maintenance gets done safely, on time, and without impacting plant operations. You’ll be a key part of keeping equipment running and supporting plant reliability. This opportunity is open to current EPCOR employees only. Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma or GED
  • Valid Journeyman Certificate (Electrical and/or Instrumentation)
  • Red Seal certification is required if outside Alberta
  • 5+ years journeyman experience in an industrial setting (wastewater preferred)
  • Experience leading crews in a plant environment
  • Strong understanding of maintenance practices and safety standards
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience planning and coordinating maintenance work
  • Familiar with CMMS systems (IVARA an asset)
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office
  • Minimum of a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License
  • Maximum of 6 demerits and ability to qualify for and maintain an EPCOR driver’s permit
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role
  • Successful completion of pre-employment testing (medical, drug & alcohol) may be required
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Lead a crew of trades, assign work, and keep jobs moving
  • Perform and oversee electrical, instrumentation, and HVAC maintenance
  • Plan and schedule work to minimize downtime and meet operational needs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues in a running plant
  • Coordinate shutdowns and respond to unexpected outages
  • Ensure work is completed safely, following all OH&S requirements and SWPs
  • Complete documentation (work orders, PCRs, reports) accurately
  • Support crew development, coaching, and performance feedback
  • Act as the go-to technical resource on complex work
