This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, replacing, and installing electrical systems and their components. This includes determining conditions and malfunctions, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical motors, generators, distribution systems, control systems, and related electrical and mechanical equipment involving voltages up to 480V AC or DC. The role also involves maintaining, altering, and repairing power appliances, light machinery, lighting fixtures, and electrical circuits in existing facilities, as well as installing fixtures and appliances in new construction. Additionally, the Electrician III will maintain, alter, and repair existing wiring, install conduit for electrical systems in accordance with the National Electric Code (NEC), assist in pulling cable for primary systems, and install new wiring. The position requires analyzing blueprints, schematics, and drawings of electrical systems for the purpose of repairing or determining the efficient installation of new or upgraded systems. General administrative functions include inputting and processing work order requests, recording detailed descriptions of work performed, monitoring building automation systems, and assisting with training and guidance for staff on position expectations and safe equipment use. The role also involves assisting in maintaining inventory of materials, supplies, tools, and/or equipment, performing general cleaning duties after maintenance tasks, and maintaining tools, vehicles, and equipment. Other duties as assigned, including special tasks or projects and operation of state vehicles, are also part of the responsibilities.
