About The Position

Reporting to the Head of Lighting, Video and SFX, the Electrician & Followspot Operator will be required to perform functions and duties as assigned to assist the department in establishing and maintaining a safe and consistent operation of all lighting systems, followspots and light fixtures in the show. This role involves operating the followspot for rehearsals, performances and special events, performing lighting and followspot cue tracks while adhering to the lighting design, and monitoring, maintaining, replacing, and cleaning lighting fixtures. The position also includes assisting with long-term inspections and maintenance schedules, providing services to other departments as needed, and adhering to all company and departmental safety policies, with an emphasis on maintaining a safe working environment and OSHA regulations. The role also requires assisting with creating a positive atmosphere for all show personnel and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Stage Electrician or Followspot Operator for a large-scale theatrical or production show.
Experience with a wide variety of modern theatrical lighting fixtures, followspots and lighting control systems as it pertains to operation, installation, use and troubleshooting.
Experience and knowledge of GFCI safety systems is required.
Ability to learn or update lifesaving skills and to become CPR/First Responder trained.
Ability to identify safety concerns and conform to safe working procedures.
Ability, experience, and comfort in working at high elevations in a theatrical environment.
Must maintain relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
Must have strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
Knowledge of OSHA health and safety protocols is required.

Responsibilities
