About The Position

West Fraser's "High Prairie Lumber" is currently recruiting for a Certified Electrician position. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring the consistent operation of all electrical equipment at the sawmill complex. The electrician will also be responsible for verifying and documenting repairs using computer-based software, monitoring product quality, and providing feedback. The position requires the ability to read Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming for specific models, perform preventative maintenance, and assist with small construction projects. Troubleshooting various pieces of equipment in collaboration with other trades is also a key part of the role.

Requirements

Several years of experience as an electrician
Must possess a Red Seal Certificate
A valid Journeyperson Certification is required
Strong organizational and communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills
Demonstrated problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
An understanding of Process Controls and Instrumentation, including but not limited to electric over pneumatic or hydraulic

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working in a sawmill or an industrial environment
Weekend and/or shift work would be required
