About The Position

JELD-WEN is currently seeking a Certified Journeyperson (Industrial Electrician) to join our growing team. This role involves performing scheduled, predictive, and preventive maintenance on plant equipment and systems, as well as troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment and machine components. The position also requires assisting other trades to reduce downtime, and assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic equipment in compliance with regulatory requirements. The job involves working at heights and in various climatological conditions, prioritizing tasks efficiently, and assisting in maintaining inventory. Compliance with JELD-WEN EH&S and legal requirements is mandatory.

Requirements

Industrial Electrician Red Seal Journeyman certificate.
Must be available to rotate shifts (Days and Evenings), on-call work, and overtime as required.
Demonstrates team approach, behaviors and interpersonal skills that contribute to a positive team and work environment.
Commitment to working in a safe manner while fostering a safe and respectful work environment.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Good understanding of schematics/blueprints.
Working knowledge of computer programs (i.e. CMMS, Excel, and Outlook)
Ability to operate forklift, scissor lift and boom lift.

Nice To Haves

5+ years experience in a maintenance manufacturing/production environment is preferred.
Preferred instrumentation and calibration experience.
Troubleshooting on PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s and electronic circuits would be an asset.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled, predictive, and preventive maintenance on plant equipment and systems.
Troubleshoot and repair/overhaul of electrical equipment and machine components.
Assist other trades when needed to reduce downtime of the production equipment.
Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic equipment in compliance with the regulatory requirements.
Working on heights from ladders, scaffolds, boom lifts and roofs.
Perform duties in a fast-paced work environments in various climatological conditions.
Prioritize the tasks on hand and move from one task to another efficiently and accurately.
Assist in maintaining the inventory of tools, equipment, and spares.
Comply with JELD-WEN EH&S requirements and legal requirements including policies, standards, rules, and programs.
Any other duties as required.
